Vista Park Gardening Competition 2018

To celebrate Vista Park residents now living the life in their new homes and to create some healthy community rivalry, we bring you the inaugural Vista Park Gardening Competition. Sharpen those secateurs and polish the work boots, its time to show off your new home site with over $5,000 in total prizes to win!

 

In this, the inaugural year of the competition, there are a number of categories for residents to enter into with more categories to be added over the years as more residents move in and more people compete.

 

The competition starts 1 September 2018. The first day of Spring! Check out the details below and get planning no matter what size garden you have. All entries will be judged on their merit, not necessarily the size!

Criteria: Best display of colour, foliage shape, design, originality or unique features, extra points for celebrating local heritage.

Gardening Australia Magazine Subscription
Winners Pendant for your fence or garden.
Criteria: Best range of edibles, use of companion planting, unique or non-standard items for extra points.


Best Drought Tolerant Garden

Criteria: Best use of local natives (not national natives), evidence of attracting beneficial insects and birds, minimal need for watering, original or unique features.

Winners Pendant for your fence or garden.
Criteria: Evenness of growth, colour, original or unique features, extra points for mowing patterns.


How to Enter:

Complete the Submission Form along with photos, video or a combination of both along with a short description about the inspiration for your garden and any innovative or unique features as well as the plants you have used. The more photos the better!

Between 1 November 2018 and 21 November 2018 entries are open. This is so that it gives you some flexibility for early or late flowering etc.

At least one photo must include either the owner or the front façade of the home.

Include your name and your lot number.

Terms and Conditions:

  1. Eligible only to those who have obtained their Occupation Certificate on a home site in The Ridge or The Grove, Vista Park.
  2. Photos, video or a combination of both along with a Short description about the inspiration for your garden and any innovative or unique features as well as the plants you have used.
  3. At least one photo must include either the home owner or the front façade of the home for validation.
  4. Completed Submission Forms must be emailed to info@vistapark.com.au by midnight 21 November 2018. They must also include the name of the purchaser and your lot number.
  5. In consultation with a guest judge, Sheargold Management will award one winner for each category based on the judging criteria.
  6. Winners will be announced at the 2018 Vista Park Community Christmas Party (date TBC). Announcement will be made to Vista Park database and all entrants will be informed also.
  7. The offer cannot be used in conjunction with any other offer.
  8. Limited to one entry per home site.
  9. The winner of each category agree to Sheargold sharing any media in submissions on websites, social media and any other promotional material.
  10. To the extent permitted by law, Sheargold, its related entities and trusts, its advisors and agencies associated with the sales process, and all of their officers, employees and contractors, are not liable and do not accept any responsibility for:
    1. Any error, omission, interruption, deletion, defect, delay in operation or transmission or communications line failure that may result in a participant’s entry not being properly submitted, received or processed,
    2. Any incorrect or incomplete information which may be communicated in the course of the promotional process, or
    3. Any loss, cost or expense incurred by a participant in connection with the promotional process.
