The recent release of real estate data from a number of varied sources including Core Logic and realestate.com.au has confirmed what we’ve perhaps all known for a little while now – your home is worth more at Wongawilli!
As highlighted in Illawarra Mercury (15 December 2023), for the first time on record Wongawilli joined the “million-dollar club” with the median house price recorded at $1,024,300 – up $45,000 from the previous year.
This figure also far exceeded other suburbs in the 2530 postcode region and placed it alongside other long established and well-regarded Illawarra suburbs such as Cordeaux Heights ($1,037,792), Corrimal ($1,047,376) and Balgownie ($1,070,971).
We might be biased but we can’t say we’re surprised.
Wongawilli’s tree-lined parks and walk-ways, sensitive management of those historic links to its long mining and rural history and the thoughtful redevelopment of the site and heritage buildings has captured peoples interest and affection. In addition to stunning natural surrounds at the foot of the escarpment, the pride of ownership from owners is immediately apparent with the care and attention they bestow on their homes in addition to an enhanced sense of community that has been fostered and encourage along the journey.
